Our story

Learning shouldn't stop at the classroom door.

SPARK grew out of a simple observation: the skills that matter most — asking good questions, sitting with uncertainty, working with others, shaping a new idea — are learned by doing them, not by reading about them.

Where it started

We wanted a space where students could actually practice curiosity and problem-solving, not just hear about it — somewhere that rewards exploration and treats mistakes as part of the process.

Innovation isn't something you have to wait to be "old enough" for. Given the right support, young people are fully capable of thinking critically, tackling problems that matter, and making a real difference in their communities — and starting early builds a mindset that lasts.

More than entrepreneurship

Say "entrepreneurship" and most people picture companies and products. That's only part of it.

At its core, entrepreneurship starts with noticing: spotting something that could be better, asking why it isn't, and building something that genuinely helps. Whatever a student grows up to become — engineer, doctor, teacher, designer, founder — that habit of mind sticks with them.

How we teach

There's no lecture hall at SPARK. Students investigate real problems, trade ideas with teammates, get pushed on their own thinking, and improve their solutions through feedback. The goal isn't handing over answers — it's building the confidence to ask sharper questions and stay curious everywhere else in life.

Looking ahead

As SPARK grows, we're hoping to partner with more schools and community organizations, reach new towns, build out our resources, and open up more chances for students to discover what entrepreneurial thinking can do.
